Bookmarks Make Great Gifts

I have been making these hoping they might fly out of my hands this holiday.  It has been fun making them and choosing stones, glass beads, MOP and materials that match and combine with my metals.  They are also easy to make.

Hopefully they will find book pages to keep them warm in the winter inside new and happy homes.

The Power of the $3.00 Sign!

I have seen people come to the table to see this $3.00 item on display.  Some of them just buy the $3.00 item, but many more continue to look and buy at least a couple more things.

I make these book thongs out of inexpensive materials, I also make some fancy ones that are more expensive, but the thing is that if I make these I get more people interested in the rest of my jewelry.  I recommend you have a big $3.00 sign with earrings, book thongs or any item you can make easily with little investment to attract potential customers to your table.

Some people decide to get the more fancy book thongs or bookmarks, but they still came to my table because of the $3.00 sign!

Book Thongs AKA Bookmarks

The other day we were talking on the Beading Dayli forums about boookmarks being good sellers.  Someone mentioned book thongs.  I looked them up.  Thank God for the Internet!!  I was curious about what they would look like.  They are very easy to make.

I have to take things to sell at a place where people like to buy things for books.  They also like to buy things under $3.00.  I inmediatey thought about some plastic beads I have laying around - I received them as a gift.  And they are the perfect beads for book thongs!!!

And this is how they look on a book.

I prefer to make them using rayon cord.  I think the beaded book thongs leave marks on the books.  But I have not experienced this, so it is just a thought!
